Southampton demolished Aston Villa

What a match! Sadio Mane scored the fastest hat-trick in the history of the  English Premier League to help his side to demolish  Aston Villa this afternoon. The 23 year old netted  3 goals in 2 minutes and 56 seconds to set a new record, breaking the previous 4 minutes and 33 seconds record set by Liverpool's striker Robbie Fowler against
Arsenal in 1994 at age 19.

Irish striker Shane Long scored twice after Mane's treble leaving struggling Aston Villa 5 goals down in just 38 minutes into the game.

Graziano Pelle made it 6 later on and Southampton's sublime display keeps them firmly in a hunt for a place in next season's Europa League

It was Christian Benteke who pulled one back in the first half-stoppage time, but it was no good as Tim Sherwood's players may have lost the chance to guarantee their Premier League survival.

Aston Villa who are 4 points above the bottom 3, may have to depend on other results if their are to be certain of staying up before the season's final round of features next weekend.

Ronald Koeman's team played exceptionally well and Mane's hat-trick set them on course for their first win in 5 matches.
